China's Development Status of FPV
How is China's development status of floating solar PV? The floating photovoltaic power stations have been installed one after the other in Japan, Britain, South Korea and other countries. Compared with them, China started it late. The test project of China's first floating photovoltaic power station was built in Xionghe reservoir in Zaoyang City, Hubei Province, and it was planned to be completed and put into operation by the end of 2015.
The project is jointly invested by Hubei local hydropower company, new energy company of Design Institute of Yangtze River Commission and Xiangyang Xionghe Reservoir Management Office. The estimated total investment is 10.38 million yuan and the total installed capacity is 1,200 kw. In order to ensure the profit of the project, it is planned to install 1,000 kW on the land and 200 kw on the water surface of the reservoir, accounting for about 2,000 square meters of water surface. The project was put on record in Zaoyang Development and Reform Bureau on June 17 this year.
This project marks the beginning of China's floating photovoltaic power station. At the same time, this new type of photovoltaic power station has attracted the attention of the National Energy Administration. When observing the floating photovoltaic power generation system in Anhui Province, Nur Baikeli, director of the board of directors, stressed that photovoltaic power generation should also be adapted to local conditions. There is a bright future for the promotion of photovoltaic power stations on the water surface in southern China. The National Energy Administration is formulating the plan of Yangtze River and the special consideration will be given to energy planning in the economic belt.
China is rich in water resources, and there are many lakes and reservoirs. The development of
floating photovoltaic power station on the water can remove the shackles of land factors, broaden the application of photovoltaic power generation. At the same time, it also has the benefits of improving power generation and protecting water resources. Although this technology is still far away from large-scale development, many problems are to be settled and verified, such as the reliability of solar modules in humid environment for a long time, the bearing capacity and service life of
floating solar mounting systems.
However, with the development of the industry and the progress of technology, more and more enterprises in China will start to develop and utilize the
floating photovoltaic power generation systems.
